Question:

Before coders can code on a form, Coder Admin must assign a dictionary to code from the Coder Tools tab in CDMS. But when the Coder Admin tries to change the Dictionary Assignment for a form, the Dictionary Assignment dialog grey out and is not editable. See the screenshot below:

How can the Coder Admin change the Dictionary Assignment for forms in CDMS Vault?

Answer:

Once Code Requests exist for a Form, Vault locksthe coding configuration for that assigned Dictionary Release. Users can no longer edit or change that Dictionary Assignment selection. This is working as designed.

To change the Dictionary Assignment in CDMS Vault, the Coder Admin needs to:

1. Delete the Coding Configurations for this form from the DEV environment: Study Studio --> Schedule  --> the form’s Properties panel --> Coding --> Edit --> Delete.
2. Re-add a new Coding Configuration for the same form.
3. Deploy this change to the target Vault environment(UAT, Production, etc.).
4. Assign the desired Dictionary to the new Coding Form.
