Question:

What field permissions does a user need to run the Split Content Plan Item action in RIM?

Answer:

When a user receives an error that they do not have enough permissions to run the Split Content Plan Item action, the issue may be due to the user's permissions on specific object fields.  When this issue occurs the user will receive an error message similar to the one below:

In order to avoid this error, a user needs to have Edit permissions on the following three fields in the Content Plan Item object:

  • Name
  • XML Title
  • Published Output Location

The user will only be able to proceed with splitting Content Plan Item if they can edit those fields.  If DAC is configured, the user needs to have edit permissions on the fields within the specific lifecycle that the record is in when attempting the Split Content Plan Item action.

 

Additional permissions are needed to have the option to run the Split Content Plan Item Action. The user's security profile must include the Create and Edit permissions on the Content Plan Item object or object types.  The user's security profile must also have the Edit Match Fields and Edit Document Matches permissions in order to run the action.
