Question:
A document has two versions each in different states. The latest document is V0.2 with the Draft state and the previous document is V0.1 with the In Review H state.
Ideally, no document should be searched out when a user searches the document by the filter condition Status = In Review H because the state of the latest version is Draft. However, the previous Document with V0.1 in the In Review H state is searched out. Why is the user able to search out the previous version document in Vault?
Answer:
Vault matches Search criteria across all document versions, but only returns a document if the latest version for which the user has the View Document permission matches the Search criteria.
The user with the Reviewer role has the View Document permission only on the In Review H state. This allows the user to filter the previous version.
