Can the Hosts file be used to manage IP Addresses For Vault?

Answer:

Vault customers need to add the POD’s IP ranges to their Allowed List to allow connections from within a corporate network. POD instances hosted in AWS use the IP address ranges so Veeva recommends that Vault customers add these ranges to their Allowed List, rather than individual IP addresses.

Using a host file to resolve a host instead of DNS causes issues to occur. This is because the actual IP address of the server can be any within the IP range.
