Question:

Flash reports give users the option to schedule reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly frequency.  They can be distributed by email to users who have an Owner, Editor, or Viewer role. 

Is it possible to create a flash report that notifies users each time a document with a particular classification is added as a Document Relationship?  Examples:  Linked Document, Related Pieces, or Supporting Document.

Answer:

A user can create a report with one of the Document Relationship report types using the Created Date field on the Relationship entity.

Example: Filter for Created Date in the last day and only send the flash email when results are returned.

A user can follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the Report tab.
2. Click the Create button.
3. Select one of the Document Relationship report types, such as Other Target Document with Source Document.
   
   
   
   
4. Click the Continue button to edit the report.
5. Add the necessary filters and columns.
   
   Filter: Relationship --> Created Date is in the last 1 days
   
   
   
   
   
6. Save and run the report.
7. Click the Actions Menu of the report then the Schedule Flash Report option.
   
   
   
   
8. On the Schedule Flash Report window, select the Only send when at least one record is returned option for the Email and Vault notification preferences field.
   
   
   
   
9. Click OK.
