Overview:
When trying to add a user to a Role using the Bulk Update function, the desired role is not displayed in the available roles.
Root Cause:
The role selection only displays the roles that are common across the selected documents.
Solution:
To get the desired role to display make sure to only select the documents that contain that specific role:
Role X is available in Document A, but not in Document B, or Document C. Therefore if document A, B, and C are selected, Role X does not appear.
Example 2
Role X is available in Document A, B, and C. Therefore, if all three documents are selected, Role X appears.
- Navigate to Library.
- Filter the library page to only display the documents that have the role needed.
- Click the Action wheel and perform a Bulk update.
Role X is available in Document A, but not in Document B, or Document C. Therefore if document A, B, and C are selected, Role X does not appear.
Example 2
Role X is available in Document A, B, and C. Therefore, if all three documents are selected, Role X appears.
