Why do Japanese characters display inconsistently on different pages on CRM online?
On the Call Report page, it displays as: "大 一郎".
On the Account Detail page and search result list page, it displays "大𣘺 一郎".
The kanji "𣘺" is a 4-byte character and 4-bytes are not supported in Veeva VisualForce pages or the offline application. But a Salesforce.com (SFDC) standard page can display the 4-bytes of characters well.
The reasons Veeva does not support 4-bytes character:
The 4-byte kanji character is rarely used for a name in Japan.
There is another kanji "橋" which is a 2-byte character that is used instead of "𣘺".
