Contract Field Displays as Read-Only in CRM For iPad (iRep) When Product Bound Flag is Active

Overview:

An Admin has set the Contract Template record as Active and set the Product Bound checkbox as Active on the Contract Template record.  The fields in contract record, contract line record, and contract partner record display as Read-Only when creating a new Contract record from this Contract Template record.

Root Cause:

It is working as designed.

Solution:

Users can use the existing Product_Bound_vod field to specify whether a Contract Template is editable or locked.c

  • If a Template Contract record has Product_Bound_vod = FALSE, the user is able to create a new Contract from this Contract Template. Any fields on the Contract, Contract Line or Contract Partner can be edited.
  • If a Contract record has Product_Bound_vod = TRUE, it is un-editable.
