Question:
Release versions can be found from the logo on the upper-left corner or the link on the right side of UI. Example: Discovering Spring'16.
Is there any other way to get this information?
Answer:
Navigate: to Setup --> Developer --> API --> Generate Partner WSDL. The first few lines are comments. It identifies the API version. Example: Spring 16 is 36.
Find the version information in the Spring'16 release notes link:
Salesforce Spring ’16 Release Notes
Note: Search for word 36 and find the release name such as Spring ’16 (API version 36.0).
