Question:
The record can be edited in CRM for iPad. After saving the record and syncing, a sync error occurs:
The user syncs and receives an Error updating the object:
- insufficient access rights on object id [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]
A user profile has CRUD (Create, Read, Update, and Delete) permissions on an object and the object is set as Public Read Only in Sharing Settings.
When the user tries to edit a record of the object, the record cannot be edited in Online CRM and an error occurs:
- Insufficient Privileges. You do not have the level of access necessary to perform the operation you requested.
Why does CRM for iPad allow the editing of a record when Online CRM does not allow editing?
Answer:
This is currently working as designed.
CRUD is the Object Level permission and Sharing is the Record Level permission.
Currently, CRM for iPad does not support Record Level Sharing.
