Question:
How to Link Anchors to the Content on a Video in Vault PromoMats and Medical?
Answer:
When the previous version of a Video is a different file format or the video is shorter or longer, Vault is not able to find the correct placement for the anchors when bringing forward the annotations.
The linked documents remain in the Linked document version, but its anchors need to be re-placed manually.
- From the Relationships, under the Linked Documents section, find all the anchors that show in grey.
- Play the video and pause it at the frame where the anchor must be placed.
- Under the Linked documents, hover over the grey anchor of a reference document. A menu will appear on the right, click and choose Link to Content.
- Select the section on the video where the anchor should be placed (green shape). Click the tick to confirm.
- The anchor is placed as an annotation in the frame selected for the video. In the the Linked Documents section, the anchor turns green.
On Videos, annotations are shown in the frame they were placed. In order to see them all play the video or use the arrows on top of the video to navigate through them.
To change the position of the anchor, choose Move, go to the correct second (frame) of the video or to the correct position on the video and click the tick.
Note: Annotate and Edit Relationships permissions are needed to complete this action.
