The user is unable to make a workflow role optional in the Workflow Activation Dialogue (WAD) even though the workflow task that is associated with this role is configured to be optional.
There is another workflow task associated with the affected role later in the workflow that is not configured to be optional.
The solution is to configure all workflow tasks that are associated with the affected role as optional workflow tasks. Otherwise, the affected workflow role is required when starting its associated workflow.
