When a new List View is created with some objects, the All default List View disappears. In other objects both of them (All and the new one) remain. Why is this occurring?
This may occur when not using the default All List View. If the standard All List View is deleted and the user accesses the Home page of any Object, the system automatically generates a new temporary All List View that cannot be edited.
If the following steps are used, this scenario of using the temporary All List View occurs:
Note: Do not follow these steps unless it is necessary to remove the standard All List View.
- Open any object's home page.
- Check that the All list view shows both the Edit and the Create New View links.
- Click Edit. Change the Restrict Visibility to Visible only to me.
- Save the changes.
- The Delete button appears.
- Click on the Delete button.
By following these steps, the standard All View disappears, but the system still needs to show one View when the user accesses the Home Page. So, it automatically generates an alternate All View that does not exist consistently in the database. As this is not a real List View, note that it cannot be Edited and that it disappears when a new List View is created.
A workaround is possible by doing the following:
- Create a new List View.
- Use the name All.
- Select the Visible to all users (Includes partner and customer portal users) visibility.
