Question:

Does a document number change when a document Country is updated in Vault PromoMats and Medical?

Answer:

To update the country of the document, Edit Fields permission is needed.

Most of the Vaults do not change the document number after the country field is updated.

If a specific Vault allows such an update, then once the country is changed, the document needs to be reclassified in order for the system to update the document number automatically:

1. Click Edit Fields:
   
   
   
   
2. Change the country accordingly.
3. Click Save:
   
   
   
   
4. Click the blue Reclassify link and select a different Document Type and click Save:
   NOTE: Reclassify permission is needed.
   
   
5. Once saved, reclassify the document again to its original classification for the document number to reflect the changes.

Note: If the state where the document is at is not shared between the different lifecycles and document types in Vault, the document state changes to Draft after it is reclassified for the first time.

Additionally, be sure the user has the required permissions to have access to the document once it is reclassified.
