Answer:
Yes, currently the recommended mobile browser to access Vault on iPad is Mobile Safari® as most Vault functionality works using Mobile Safari® on iPad®. However, certain functionality is not supported:
Area | Non-Supported Functionality |
Annotation | Creating line annotations |
Annotation | Creating link annotations |
Annotation | Move annotation |
Annotation | Viewing linked document via mini-browser icon opens in a new tab |
Annotation | Opening Meeting Mode |
File Handling | Check In or Check Out actions without Office Online™ |
File Handling | Create Draft action |
File Handling | Upload New Version action |
File Handling | Creating a new document with one or more uploaded files; note that creating placeholders, binders, documents from a template, or unclassified documents is supported. |

Library | Edit columns action in Tabular View |
Reports | Edit columns action when editing reports |
Site Activation Progress View | (iOS v7 and v8 only) Viewing the page; fields do not appear correctly. Note that this is supported for users on iOS v9 and later |
Given that Mobile Safari® remains the most recommended browser for iPad®, these devices will continue to inherit limitations that come with using this browser.
