Question:
Why can a Call be created from the Call Objective related list after the Call Objective's end date in CRM Offline?
A Call Objective does not appear from the standard Call page after the end date. However, a Call can be created from the Record a Call button of the Call Objective related list.
If the Call Objectives To_Date_vod__c is past today:
- The Call Objective cannot be selected on the Call page from the Account's Record a Call button. This is true for both Online and Offline CRM.
- The Call Objective is selected by default when using Record a Call button from the Call Objective related list.
Answer:
The Record a Call button on the Call Objective related list can be used to create Calls from past due Call Objectives. The primary way to restrict these calls is by setting the CALL_BACKDATE_LIMIT Veeva Setting.
Alternately, a custom Validation Rule can be added to restrict the Call from being saved once the To_Date_vod__c date is reached.
