Question:
Document Types can inherit settings from a parent Document Type or the Base Document type. All parent document types below the Base Document and all child Document Types below a parent Document Type automatically inherit all settings in the Base Document.
Is there a way to prevent the Document Type Groups from being inherited through an override feature? Can an override feature be disabled at a later point?
Answer:
Yes, there is a way to prevent the Document Type Groups from being inherited through an override feature. To enable this feature, insert the desired value into the field to override the inherited field from the parent Document Type.
If a user needs to remove an override, the user needs to click the Remove override button in the child Document Type. This causes the child Document Type to pull the value from the parent Document Type instead of using one previously inserted into the child Document Type.
