Overview:
Copied document fields are not populating values from the original document.
Root Cause:
Fields with read-only security do not copy values to the copy of a document.
The user copying the document needs to have the Edit Fields permission even on fields that are set to populate with default values in the target Document Type.
Solution:
- Have a user, who has Edit Fields permissions on the field, copy the document.
- Create Security Overrides for the field.
In eTMF Vaults, Document Type --> Type Defaults are an example of fields that populate on the original document but not on copies when configured as read-only security.
