Answer:

Version Binding is where a specific version of a document is to be displayed when in a binder.  This allows users to set binding to the Steady State or the current version.

The following options are available for Version Binding:

• Always show the Latest Version
• Bind documents to their Latest Steady State Version (if it exists)
• Bind documents to their Latest Version

The Overwrite existing bindings if a newer version is available checkbox resets the version binding according to the selected option for documents that are already bound. If you do not set this checkbox, no changes occur for bound documents.
