Question:
How many timezone settings are displayed in Vault?
Answer:
Vault stores time and date information in a UTC timezone by default.
There is the following timezones which are configurable:
- System timezone (Setting -- > Language & Region Settings)
- User profile timezone
The User profile timezone enables the user to view notifications and document audit trails converted to his profile's timezone.
The System timezone is used to display system-wide information which is irrelevant to a specific user profile.
Example:
User Profile Timezone: JST & System Timezone: CST
In the screenshot below, the loader job list in Vault UI is shown in JST which is according to the user profile.
In the job log, it is actually stamped in UTC time which is the Vault default timezone.
As for the system timezone, it can be found in the Vault Schedule job as shown below:
