Question:
How to Link a referencing Document in Vault PromoMats and Medical?
Answer:
Annotate and Edit Relationships permissions are needed.
When documents have references, these are referred to as Linked Documents.
The Linked documents show in the Relationships section in the Metadata and as Link Annotations.
The Link Annotation show the specific text or area that is being referenced by the Linked Document.
To link a document to be used as a reference, a Link Annotation needs to be created.
- Click the Select tool button and choose Link.
- Select the text or area to be referenced.
- The Select anchors dialogue box pops up. Find the reference document using filters, views, and search terms as needed.
- Click the Add Link symbol (green +).
Note: If anchors are needed, see how to create them in the Related Documentation below.
- Click Close on the Select anchors window once the selection is complete.
The reference will remain under the Linked Document section in the Metadata and is visible as a Link Annotation if the Annotations are open.
