Question:
Why does an error message appear in the Document Viewer and the Viewable Rendition for a PDF Source file in Vault?
Answer:
If the Source Document is created using Adobe LiveCycle or Experience Manager, then the following setting in Vault must be enabled for Vault to be able to render the document:
- Navigate to Admin --> Settings --> Rendition Settings.
- Enable (check) the setting: Allow viewing and annotation of protected PDF files.
Note: This resolution is only reportedly able to fix all PDFs created with Adobe LiveCycle or Experience Manager.
