The end-user initiates an Engage Meeting from a Windows PC by clicking on the Start button on the Call Detail page. The VeevaCRMEngage_Launcher.exe file downloads and checks if the Veeva CRM Engage host application is already installed and if it is the latest version. No existing host application is detected therefore the Veeva CRM Engage app is installed. However, after a successful installation, the Remote Meeting does not start. The launcher file is downloaded again and the installation starts from the beginning.
After the Veeva CRM Engage host app is installed, it opens the Welcome Page (https://engage.veeva.com) in the browser. This page creates a cookie in the browser to indicate the host application is installed. It builds a command with the host app protocol that launches the Veeva CRM Engage application with the parameters necessary to start the meeting.
However, when the Welcome Page cannot be opened, the cookie cannot be created either. As the launcher cannot detect that the application is installed, it tries to install the application again.
The Welcome Page at https://engage.veeva.com must be whitelisted or added to the Trusted Sites for the installation to complete successfully.
Further things to note:
- Cookies must be enabled in the browser
- Incognito mode is not supported
- The default browser is recommended to use with Engage Meeting
