Overview:
Selecting Create Related Document from the Action menu does not generate a placeholder.
Root Cause:
The required fields are missing and/or the Relationship Type is missing or incorrect.
Solution:
First, be sure the Document Type the user is generating a related document from supports the relationship:
- Navigate to Admin --> Configuration.
- Select the source Document Type.
- Right-click on the source Document Type and select Edit Details.
- If the related Document Type does not appear in the Relationship Types section, add it to the section.
Next, be sure the user action is configured correctly:
- Navigate to Admin --> Configuration --> [Lifecycle] --> Statuses.
- Click on the status the create document user action is applied to.
- Select User Action --> Edit.
- Be sure the correct Document Type and Relationship Type are applied to the user action.
Finally, be sure the related Document Type contains the same required fields as the source Document Type.
