What are Document Relationships in Vault PromoMats and Medical?
Documents can be linked using different relationship types to the main document in the Relationships section of the Information Page.
Please note that Vault automatically adds certain relationships to a document. When a copy is made from a document, it is visible in the Copy under Based on.
Each Vault has several different document relationship types. The example below shows Linked Documents, Related Materials, Supporting Documents and Attachments.
Linked Documents are automatically created relationships in Vault between two documents. For example, one document has link annotations that refer to an anchor to another document.
Please note: Linked documents can be added directly by clicking on the + icon, without creating an annotation.
- Related Materials is a custom relationship. This relationship is tied to all documents using the Base Document type as the target document.
Supporting Documents are existing documents in Vault that can be added to back up the main Document. Supporting documents can be added manually by clicking on the +. This opens a Window where a search for the document can be done and it can be added by clicking on the + icon. The document can manually be removed by clicking on the – Icon.
- Once the Attachment section is enabled on a Document Type it appears in the Document Files section .
In the Attachment section there can be up to 50 attachments uploaded.
Please note: Attachments do not appear in the Library or Custom Document tabs.
