Question:
What are the common Entity Key Prefixes in Salesforce? Is it possible to list the records of any Objects in Veeva CRM / Salesforce without using Tabs?
Answer:
Each object in Salesforce has a unique prefix, which is the first three characters of the SFDC ID of the record.
Example:
The SFDC ID of Every Salesforce Organization ID begins with 00D. In a User record, it is 005, while in an Account record is 001. These are called Entity Key Prefixes.
The two pieces of documentation below list the prefixes of all Standard Objects. Each Custom Object also has its own unique Entity Key Prefix. This prefix can be used to list all of the records of that specific object.
Example:
Assume that the SFDC ID of the following Approved Document record is: a1nm0000005LWt7.
If a1n is left only inside the URL, after the Salesforce instance, all the existing records of the Approved Document object are shown:
Salesforce Navigator works the same way and can be used to list the records of any objects that the logged-in user has access to.
