Why the Document Viewer is Blank for a PDF Source Document in Vault?

Overview:

After uploading a PDF source document in Vault, the Viewable Rendition is created and the Viewer is blank. This is despite the user role having View Content permission.

Root Cause:

The PDF source document is corrupt.

Solution:

To fix the PDF source document, the user can save it as a new PDF file in Adobe:

  1. Open the PDF source document in Adobe.
  2. Click File and Save As to save it as a new PDF file.
  3. Upload the new PDF file into Vault and the content is displayed in the viewer of the document.
