Question:
A default Global Content Type can be mapped to a document type. When a new document of this type is created, the default Global Content Type is automatically populated in the Global Content Type field.
However, while reclassifying a document, the Global Content Type (Standard Metrics Section) is not changed to its default value which is configured in the Document Type. Why does this happen?
Answer:
This is working as designed.
Classifying a document (creating a new document or classifying an Unclassified document) sets the Global Content Type field with its default value if the Document Type has a mapped Global Content Type.
Reclassifying a document is different. Global Content Type is not changed if it already has a value. This is to avoid overwriting a value chosen by the user.
