In Vault V20R1.2, Standard Metrics fields (Global Content Type, Content Creation Currency and Content Creation Cost) are made mandatory. Is it possible to make Standard Metrics Fields not mandatory?

Answer:

No, it is impossible to make Standard Metrics Fields not mandatory. 

If users do not want to use or enter values for the three Standard Metrics fields in business, Admins can set default values following the steps below:

1.  Global Content Type  
   There are two ways (shown below) to set a default value for this field.

• An Admin can navigate to: Admin --> Configuration --> Document Fields --> Base Document --> Global Content Type. Select a default value under the Picklist values section.

• An Admin can also choose to configure a default value for the Base Document type. To do so, navigate to Admin --> Configuration --> Document type --> double click Base Document -. Select a default value in Global Content Type section. All other document types inherit the value from the Base Document.

      2. Content Creation Currency and Content Creation Cost

An Admin can navigate to: Admin --> Configuration --> Settings --> Application Settings. Set the Default Content Creation Currency field to Decline to Provide.

If the Content Creation Currency field defaults as Decline to Provide, the Content Creation Cost is also be populated with Decline to Provide automatically when creating a new document.
