Overview:
Starting in Vault V20R2.0, users need a security profile with the new View Archive permission in order to see archived documents. Like before, users need to be in a document role that includes the View Document permission. To view the Archive tab, users must have the Tab: Archive and View Archive permissions.
However, admins are not able to unselect the View Archive permission in some permission sets as it is grayed out.
Root Cause:
The View Archive permission is implicitly granted by the following permissions:
- Vault Actions --> Search --> Manage Archive
- Vault Owner Actions --> All Documents --> All Document Read
If either permission above is enabled (checked), the checkbox of View Archive permission becomes checked and grayed-out.
Solution:
To uncheck the View Archive permission, an admin needs to do the following:
- Navigate to Admin --> Users & Groups --> Security Profile --> [Security Profile] --> [Permission Set].
- Click the Application tab.
- Uncheck Manage Archive and All Document Read permission.
- Uncheck View Archive permission.
