Overview:

The user cannot start a multi-document workflow (MDW) due to an error: The following documents cannot be included in the workflow because the document is in the incorrect state.

Root Cause:

This is an MDW for a special document lifecycle.

Example:

This error occurs when starting this MDW. The user action is not set for the document lifecycle state.

Solution:

A Vault Owner or System Admin can follow the steps below to set this MDW user action.

  1. Navigate to Admin --> Configuration --> Document Lifecycles --> [document lifecycle] --> States -->[state] --> User Actions.
  2.  Add a user action to start the MDW.

The MDW can now run correctly.
