Question:
How to connect FTP FileZilla to Vault PromoMats and Medical?
Answer:
A File Transfer Protocol Server (FTP Server) is a software application that enables the transfer of files from one computer to another. The Veeva-recommended FTP is FileZilla (free client available here) as it is feature-rich and easy to use. It is available for most operating actions.
Instructions on how to install FileZilla can be found in the blue link here.
To connect FTP FileZilla to Vault, use the steps below:
-
Open the FileZilla application.
-
Select the Site Manager icon.
- A new dialogue window opens. Click on New Site and name the new site.
-
Set the Protocol field to FTP – File Transfer Protocol.
-
Set the Host field to [domain].veevavault.com. [Domain] is everything between https:// and .veevavault.com in the URL.
-
Set the Encryption field to Use explicit FTP over TLS if available.
-
Set the Logon Type field to Normal.
-
Set User to [domain].veevavault.com+username (Example: vaultpromomats123.veevavault.com+user1@vault123.com).
-
Enter the Vault Lab Environment password into the Password field.
-
Click on Connect.
The message Status: Directory listing of “/” successful appears once the connection between FileZilla and Vault is successful.
