Edit in Microsoft Office User Action Not Visible When Using Collaborative Authoring with Microsoft Office in Vault

Overview:

A user who has Edit and Download document permissions on the document cannot see the Edit In Microsoft Office user action on a word document. Collaborative Authoring with Microsoft Office is configured successfully.

Root Cause:

The user can check a Word file with the .doc extension. Veeva supports Collaborative Authoring for DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files.

Solution:

The document owner can convert the .doc file to a .docx file and upload the file back to Vault. Then, confirm the Edit In Microsoft Office user action appears on the DOCX document.
