Is it Possible to Create and Test an Approved Document Directly in CRM?
Answer:
CRM-Managed Approved Documents, which are created directly in CRM and not by and in Vault, are not supported.
In order to test Approved Documents, including Email Templates and Email Fragments, they have to be created in Vault. Also, they need to be synced into Veeva CRM using the Approved Email - Vault Integration feature.
The reason why CRM Managed Approved Documents are not supported is that when a Sent Email record is created, a query is attempted against the Vault instance. This is going to fail as the Vault-related fields are not populated on the Approved Document.
Once the Approved Document is created in Vault and synced to CRM, it is possible to make changes to it in CRM directly. Using Force Full Refresh in the Approved Email Admin Tab restores the document.
