Question:
How to check in a document via Vault File Manager?
Answer:
Vault File Manager can only be used if users have the appropriate permissions and the Provision File Manager from Vault feature is enabled.
The below permissions control actions related to Vault File Manager:
Type | Permission Label | Controls |
Security Profile | Application: Document: Vault File Manager | Ability to check out documents using the Check Out to File Manager action or Document Check Out bulk action. |
Security Profile | Application: Document: Bulk Update | Ability to perform bulk actions. |
Security Profile | Application: API: Access API | Ability to connect to your vault via Vault File Manager. |
Document Role | Edit Document | Ability to check out and check in the document. |
After making changes to a document, it can be checked-in from Vault File Manager:
- From the Doc Info page, click on the Actions menu, select Check In from Vault File Manager, or launch Vault File Manager.
-
Select one or more documents to check in using the check boxes.
- Click Check In.
- Optional: Add a comment in the Description field. This description applies to all checked-in documents.
- Click Confirm.
-
Vault File Manager uploads the new versions to Vault and deletes the checked-out versions. Each document's upload status is indicated by a progress bar.
By hovering the mouse over the progress bar, users can select Skip File to place a document at the end of the upload queue, or select Cancel to stop the process.
