How to check out a document via Vault File Manager?
Vault File Manager can only be used if users have the appropriate permissions and the Provision File Manager from Vault feature is enabled.
The below permissions control actions related to Vault File Manager:
|Security Profile||Application: Document: Vault File Manager||Ability to check out documents using the Check Out to File Manager action or Document Check Out bulk action.|
|Security Profile||Application: Document: Bulk Update||Ability to perform bulk actions.|
|Security Profile||Application: API: Access API||Ability to connect to your vault via Vault File Manager.|
|Document Role||Edit Document||Ability to check out and check in the document.|
Users can check out a document via Vault File Manager by following these steps:
- From the document Actions menu, select Check Out to File Manager.
When the user is not already logged into Vault File Manager, Vault prompts them to do so.
- Documents are automatically downloaded. A progress bar shows the document's download progress, and the file automatically opens in the assigned application once the download is complete.
Whenever a document is edited, it must be saved to the same location. Vault File Manager is not be able to check in a file if it is moved to another location.
