Question:
When uploading content through the Multichannel Loader in Vault, why do two distribution packages exist on the document?
Answer:
Two distribution packages will be present on a document uploaded through the Multichannel Loader if the slide.clm_content__v field is TRUE, the slide.filename field is populated and the slide.crm_media_type__v field is either PDF, Image or Video.
When the slide.crm_media_type__v field is set to HTML and the slide.clm_content__v is FALSE, Vault will not automatically-generate a distribution package. It will look in the slide.filename field for a distribution package to be identified and later uploaded.
If the slide.crm_media_type__v field is set to PDF, Image or Video and the slide.clm_content__v field is set TRUE, Vault will automatically-generate a distribution package for the document and therefore one should not be manually-uploaded. Because one is not being manually-uploaded, the slide.filename field should be left blank. If this field is not left blank, two distribution packages will be present on the document: the automatically-generated Veeva Distribution Package and the manually-uploaded Distribution Package.
