Question:
Why are Veeva Network IDs (VIDs) not saving and formatting properly when adding data or opening files in Microsoft Excel?
Answer:
This is due to a limitation from Microsoft that converts numbers larger than 15 digits into scientific notation. The suggested workarounds are to format the cells that will contain VIDs as text before loading data into them, or to prefix all VIDs with an apostrophe ( ' ). If users cannot use either of these workarounds, they are advised to use a different text editor as these products are not supported by Veeva's Support team.
