Question:
Admins can manage field dependency rules by navigating to: Admin --> Configuration --> Field Dependencies. The Condition column displays the controlling field, document type, or lifecycle. The Action column displays associated dependent fields.
Users cannot see the document field from the document information page. Why does the document field disappear?
Answer:
One possible reason is that there is a field dependency added to the document field. When field dependency is using the setting Controlled by document field, the opposite behavior is applied when the controlling conditions are not met.
- When Need Reason equals Yes, the Reason field is required.
- When Need Reason equals No, the opposite behavior is applied. The Reason field is not required and it is hidden automatically.
- If users do not want the Reason field to be hidden automatically, admins can configure an extra field dependency. This can make the Reason field not hidden even if the Need Reason field equals No.
