What is the Limit of Documents returned when Searching across Vault?

Question:

What is the limit of documents returned when searching across Vault?

Answer:

There is no limit. If a user's search term matches every document in the Vault, it will be returned.

The only exception is when users include document content in the scope of their search. In that case, two separate searches will run: One for document metadata, and one for document content. Results are then  merged. For performance reasons, only the 5000 most relevant matches to content are returned.
