Report for the Average Number of Review Workflows for a Subtype

Hi,

I'd like to build a report (and eventually a dashboard) that will show how many review cycles document in a subtype undergo on average.

I thought a matrix report would work, but I can't seem to get the final average (and I'm also unsure which field to use to identify a single completed workflow).

Does anyone have any idea how to get this done?

Cheers!

Hi Raphaël - here is one way you might be able to accomplish this:

    - create formula field using the function numTimesInValue(field, value) - field can be status and value can be value that the document would necessarily pass through

    - create a tabular report document report that groups by sybtype

    - add the formula field as a column - and select Avg for the calculation (these appear for number and date fields when groups are added)

Another way you could accomplish this is by modifying your workflow to include an action that increments a document field each time it passes through a cycle.

Let me know if you meet any challenges.

Thanks Graham. It looks like like the first solution is best designed for this purpose. However, we'll need to manage this as a formal change request as it will be a change in documents (pretty simple one, though).

Will the calculated field yield results retrospectively for past cycles, or only from the time it's active?

    Kind regards,

    Raph

Good question - it should yield results retrospectively as it leverages the audit trail for the calculations.
