Default Record Types for Calls by Account Type

Provide the ability to default/allow specific Record Types for Call Reports by Account Type. Enabling the ability to have different page layouts on Call Reports based upon the Type of Call that you are interacting with.

    Hi Atul,

    Yes, this feature was released in v18 of Veeva CRM.  Here's a link to the documentation for Defaulting Call Type by Account Record Type.

    I agree. I was working on a use case involving a specific user profile that has the ability to create call reports for pharmacies and HCPs. The information captured on the call report for a pharmacy is quite different than that of the HCP and definitely requires separate page layouts. I was surprised that the user would need to select the record type from a drop-down on the call report page. I'm hoping this is "under consideration". Thanks!

    This is indeed planned to be incorporated in a future release. We've gotten this request for several customers.

    Hi Ted, Is this functionality has been added in the current release?  I am working on getting the two different call recording page layouts for HCP and HCO for the same profile but the record type selected on the profile for a call as default is getting selected when the call recording.  Let me know if this has already been release.

    I have tried updating this field from Veeva setting but the call page view is coming from the profile default record type selection for the call. we can get on the call if you want me to demo you the changes I have done.
