Question:
How to Link a Reference Document and Create Anchors Within it in PromoMats and Veeva Medical?
Answer:
Annotate and Create Anchors permission is needed.
A user can create anchors in the document to be used as a Reference or from the document to be referenced.
Instructions for the former can be found in Create an Anchor in a Reference document.
To link a Reference document to another document, a Link Annotation needs to be created:
- Open the document to be referenced.
- Click the Select tool button and choose Link.
- On the content, select the text or area to be referenced.
- The Select anchors dialogue box pops up. Find the reference document using filters, views, and search terms as needed.
- Below the Reference document, click Select or create new anchor in this document. The target document pops up in a mini-browser window.
- Within the reference document in the mini-browser, select text or an area as the anchor location.
- A grey anchor box comes up. Enter an anchor name, up to 140 characters. Click Save.
- Close the mini-browser.
- The new anchor/s show under the Reference document. Click the green plus icon (+) next to the anchor/s.
- Close the Select Anchors dialogue box.
