Question:
Does Vault Digital Publishing use encryption when moving in and out of Vault?
Answer:
Vault Digital Publishing copies files from Veeva's S3 bucket to the customer's S3 bucket. When configuring Digital Publishing, the customer gives Veeva permissions to write to their S3 bucket via the canonical ID.
Copying of the files is done via the Amazon sync process that ensures that the files are encrypted for the transfer. The files are not uploaded from Vault, the copy is done via S3 bucket to S3 bucket.
NOTE: Encryption on the customer's S3 bucket can be controlled in a number of ways and it would be up to the customer to select which methods they choose to use.
