Question:
How to Make a Copy in Vault?
Answer:
Users can make a copy of a document to carry across the same content and annotations, and/or the fields (metadata).
The copy can be made from the latest version, or from any previous version (see more below in Related Documentation).
- From the Actions menu, click Make a Copy.
- A pop-up window appears. There are options available to Copy Content (with annotations, if any), Copy Fields and in some cases, Copy attachments.
Note: If Copy Content is unchecked, the source file and annotations will not be included in the new document.
-
Once the new document is created, the relationship to the original document appears under Based on section in the Relationships panel. This relationship cannot be removed.
Note: Users can only Make a Copy if they have permission to create the Document Type of the original material.
