Question:
What are the main differences between the CRM Goal Editing and the Veeva Align Targeting/Feedback Functionalities?
Answer:
The primary purpose of the CRM Goal Editing is to make goal changes during the Mid Cycle (Live) period in Veeva CRM. It is also possible to use it during the Pre-Cycle (Planning) period. MC Cycle data being in the Mid Cycle have their attainment calculated by the MCCP job in CRM.
The purpose of the Veeva Align Targeting/Feedback functionality is to make small adjustments to the MCCP/Alignment data only in the Pre-Cycle (Planning) Period in Veeva Align and the Future Territory Alignments tab.
All Align MC Cycle data belongs to the Pre-Cycle (Planning) Period. No Attainment is calculated, only goals are created, and managed. Predictions related to territory performance can be made using the MC Cycle Utilization page, and the Capacity Planning ability of Align.
- There are several fields which have similar labels and API names in both functionalities. They are not to be confused, both of these functionalities work differently.
- CRM Goal Editing and the Feedback Process cannot be used together.
