Question:
Why does the following validation error occur when creating a roster member territory for a CRM-sourced Roster Member?
Start Datetime cannot be before roster_member__aln Start Datetime.
Answer:
By default, the Roster Member's Start Date field is mapped to the User's CreatedDate in CRM for CRM-mastered Roster Members. This may cause the validation error when:
- The CreatedDate in CRM may be after the date when the user actually starts working in the Territory (Roster Member Territory Start Date).
- After modifying the Start Date of the Roster Member records in Align because the Import from CRM overwrites the Start Date back to the CRM CreatedDate, when a CRM User Record is modified.
The Start Date can be mapped to a custom CRM Date field if CRM CreatedDate does not represent the business Start Date.
