Question:
When navigating to Setup --> Administration Setup --> Data Management --> Sandboxes, the Refresh option is not available. Why is the Refresh option missing for the Sandbox?
Answer:
Salesforce sets a limit on the current number of Sandboxes a customer can have. If the limit is exceeded for any of the Sandbox categories, the Refresh option is removed for every Sandbox.
Example:
A production org has the current total Sandboxes and used Sandboxes:
- Developer Sandbox - 60 total, 5 in use
- Developer Pro - 5 total, 7 in use
- Partial Copy - 1 total, 1 in use
- Full - 1 total, 1 in use
Since this org is only licensed for 5 Developer Pro Sandboxes and has 7 in use, the Refresh option disappears from every Sandbox. To resolve this, two of the Developer Pro Sandboxes need to be deleted. As soon as this is done the refresh option appears again.
Note: Click "Create Sandbox" to see the total available sandboxes.
