Question:
How are Address rankings calculated in Veeva Network?
Answer:
Address Rankings (also called Address Ordinals) are computed in the following manner:
-
Veeva-owned Addresses come before non-Veeva owned Addresses.
-
Active Addresses come before inactive Addresses.
-
Based on Address Type: Professional comes before Professional and Preferred Mail which comes before Mail Only which comes before Address.
-
For incoming systems, the ordinal preference is based on the higher priority system's survivorship precedence. For example, all XYZ system sourced Addresses come before all ABC system sourced Addresses, where system XYZ is ranked higher than system ABC.
If a locally-owned record has multiple active Addresses of the same type with the same ordinal, the system orders them in sequence.
