Question:
How to reclassify a document in Vault?
Answer:
Reclassify allows a user to change the Type, Subtype, and Classification of the document.
A document has the option to Reclassify if:
- The user role has permission to Reclassify on the current document state: This can be confirmed in the Sharing Settings.
- The document is not in an active workflow: Cancel the workflow or complete all pending tasks first.
- The document cannot be Checked Out: Undo Check Out or Check In the document first.
- The documents fields are not being edited: Save the changes or cancel editing the fields first.
The option to Reclassify is found in the Metadata:
- Select the document's Information icon and click on the blue Reclassify link under the current classification:
- Choose a new Document Type.
-
Optional: Click Advanced to see independent dropdowns for the classification.
- Confirm the changes by clicking OK.
